If you only do one hike in Big Bend, do this one. There are so many great views along the way. In my opinion, some of the most beautiful ones in the park. You'll see volcanic peaks, deep valleys, … Full review by Steve D

We went May 3, 2024 and arrived at the trailhead around 7am. The entire way up was in shade, which was welcome. We are in our late 60s and hiking poles were very helpful. Make sure to learn how to… Full review by Mommy593

We just hiked about halfway up and enjoyed the view from an overlook. We did it in the afternoon in October of last year (2017). I am 70 and my wife is a few years younger. I would recommend getting there early as there is a small parking lot and it does get busy.

I was surprised at how ample this trail is. There are parts that have had finishing work done on them, which make it seem somewhat like a stroll through a city park, instead of up the side of a mountain. I’d describe this as more of a “rolling hills” type hike vs. cliffs/steep drop offs. Vistas are so worth it!
