Touring the submarine itself was interesting, but, as others have mentioned, not good for the claustrophobic. Doorways are tiny. I’m only 5’3” and I had to duck. But still worth it to see the living … Full review by 348emilyl

We visited this sub while at Pearl Harbor. You can both walk the deck as well as go inside to see how the sailors lived and operated this machine. It is interesting to see all the mechanics that go… Full review by Patrick M

This is a unique opportunity to tour an actual submarine. The museum offers a wealth of information about navy history and systems. An extensive collection of submarine warfare systems is on display.… Full review by 443jonathanj

How long is the tour and what time is the pickup from Waikiki Sheraton? The description did not mention a time and I could not understand the agent from aviator.
A:
The Bowfin itself is just a self-guided walkthrough. It really depends when you go/how busy it is. We went during off-season and it took us about 20-30 minutes.

Getting through the doors of the submarine was difficult for my husband with back and leg problems and for myself with a foot that I have to wear a brace on. Once we figured out how to do it, it was okay. This should be pointed out to people who may have disabilities. Was a very good tour and well worth it. It was not crowded the day we were there, so we were able to take our time.

Thanks for adding this information. I too have back problems (the reason I had to quit caving) and you are right, lack of a crowd allowed enough time to relearn to negotiate the hatches, and it was worth it for me.
Q:
When you purchase a ticket for a certain day, do you have to go at a particular time like you do for the Arizona Memorial?
A:
I don't think so. I recall waiting for the Arizona film to start and then going out to the site but I think for the submarine you just go whenever.
