We fly into Bergen about 1:40 in the afternoon and, take a bus to our hotel. We would like to go to the Steinsdalsfossen that afternoon. Is it possible to catch a bus that will take us there , give us time to do some tourists stuff, then return us to. Bergen ? Many thanks for your help!

I have just answered-at length . And lost it! I see someone else has given details of nearest town. Google Hardanger Maritime Museum and email them about activities for children. You can make rope the "Old fashioned" way and I think make simple models of boats. It is also a restoration project so there will be a few old boats about as well as being able to see new clinker built boats being produced. It is on the waterfall side of the town There is also a diving platform in the small beach in the town if you fancy a swim.
