As a Quaker, I just had to visit and found the tour fascinating. Mary was informed, interesting and made sure any questions we had were answered. Shakers spun out of the Quaker movement in the mid 18…Full review by Robert A

Hi Janet! Since the Shakers are still running an active farm, we ask that dogs be on a leash at all times, away from the farm animals, and with their human. Dogs can not go indoors into the Museum spaces so just be sure that they are always with their human, well protected and loved, of course! :)

We will be on a cruise, so will there be enough time to go to Shaker Village and possibly see Kennynukport as well? Do you know of any tour operators that we could use? We get into port at 8am and leave at 6pm that evening. So many exciting things to do there, but both of these are high on my list.

The cruise lines do not offer trips to the Shaker Village at this time. You might be able to arrange a small group through your cruise director. It takes about 45 minutes to get there from Portland. You need about 2 hours to tour the village (suggest to prearrange the onsite visit). A group of 12-15 would be ideal. Kennebunk the opposite direction but buses do go there.
