Hi, can you tell me if you can see sea lions by hiring kayaks just from Santa barbara or do you need to go to the Chanel islands? If you can is there a better time of day to go? Thanks

We will be visiting the end of April, beginning of May. What is the average water temp and are the wet suits adequate to keep you warm if the water is cool. What is the average air temps that time of year? We are considering the kayak and snorkeling package; we have experience doing both. Both of us have snorkeled but in warm Caribbean waters, both of us have (tandem) kayaked in cool Maine ocean waters as well as the Westfield River (Race) in late winter.
