Lovely walks around. A nice stop off point and takes 1.5/2 hours to go round. Interesting if you like Scottish history. Parking is limited - so park on the grass up past the car park towards the cast… Full review by igxxn

Very nice castle that is easy to reach by local bus. Admittance is low and the place is not crowded in September, rather quit. Excellent explanation of the rooms. Full review by R B

Any bus that goes to the Royal Infirmary: 7, 8, 33 and 49 are the ones I can remember off the top of my head. Get off at the Little France Crescent bus stop (just after you turn in to the hospital from the main road). From there, walk about 100m straight on, following the direction the bus is going in and you'll see a gateway and a path on your left. The path will take you up towards the castle.
