We visited as part of a tour through our cruise operator. We’re very glad we stopped by; the ruins are well preserved and you can get a great flavour of why things were set out as they were, the sign…Full review by 93jonp
I keep seeing that the price to get in is around $9? Is that US dollars or pesos? Same questions for taxis or renting a car. Someone asked about transportation around the island. Another answered $60 for the taxis and around $100 plus gas for the car. Is that is pesos or US dollars?

How far is San Gervasio from cruise port, I think I read 11 miles...Can we just rent our own vehicle and drive there and how much is charge to explore. Going in 2 weeks with Carnival Thanks

You can definitely rent a car or a scooter. A scooter is a much more fun way to see the island. It does not take long at all by either car or scooter to get to the ruins. There is only 1 main road that goes inland. Just ask anyone and they will give you directions.
