Hello Rowland, Thanks for getting in touch. You haven't mentioned your particular interests but we'll give it a go. Bundoran is famous as a seaside resort since the 19th century. With that in mind you could try surfing, coastaleering, fishing trips or two beautiful cliff walks at Rougey and the West End cliffs where you'll get fantastic views of Donegal Bay over to Slieve League -Europe's highest sea cliffs - and St. John's point. Both the Main beach and the West End offer different experiences if you just want to relax on the shore. The Main beach is sandy and the West End shore is black shelf rock and has a seawater pool for bathing. Perhaps you prefer golf or pitch and putt. There is also horse riding over the sand dunes or you could hire a bike and explore the area. There are many historical features within a 6 mile radius of Bundoran including megalithic tombs, mass rocks, holy wells and the site of the writing of the Four Masters' Annals. The local library is a great resource for researching all of this but you can just get in touch again and we can give you more info if this is what you like. Bundoran offers loads for indoor entertainment too with a 6-screen cinema and plenty of indoor amusements. Of course, Bundoran Adventure Park is open every day from 1 pm until 10 pm at high season and we can find something to entertain you from infant to 90+! Amusements, fair rides, crazy golf and go karting are all here on site for you to get your heart racing and put a smile on your face. You can't leave Bundoran without trying the local restaurants and eateries. The standard of these is high with many offering local produce. Of course, you can't come to the seaside without enjoying fish and chips and Mr. Ts on the main street serves hand cut chips and fresh fish. On site at Bundoran Adventure Park we serve hot freshly made donuts with your choice of topping, whipped and Mauds scooped ice cream as well as ground roast coffee, burgers, fries and hot dogs. If you feel like pampering yourself you could have a seaweed bath (beside Bundoran Waterworld) or a range of massage and spa therapies there and elsewhere around town. There are hair salons and beauty salons and hot shaves and cuts at our 2 local barbers. The bars and hotels have music to suit every taste from Irish country, ballad singers, traditional Irish and contemporary rock and pop so you'll be spoiled for choice. The bars are mostly free and you'll only be asked to pay in to concerts. If you prefer to chat with the locals, Brennan's bar on Main St has no tv and frowns on the patrons singing. It's a step back in time and you're sure to get chatting to someone if that's what you fancy. We hope this provides you with food for thought and tickles your fancy. Please don't hesitate to get back in touch if you have specific interests that we haven't covered here as,depending on the time of year you visit, there are various festivals and events - music, historical, cars, sports, literary and cultural,, etc. that come to Bundoran or nearby. We look forward to welcoming you to Bundoran.
