The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. The castle is quite spread out but quite interesting, lots of steps to climb up. We went with a coach tour.Full review by Digitalman2

I would choose a midweek day to visit and to go for castle opening. 10am. I think but double check.
How long should I give myself for the castle and gardens

About 3 hours for castle , plenty of guided tours which are great . They start about 10 then run hourly there's a board saying when and where . If you are Hha member free to get in .
